Organisational Capacity Programme Lead Training
Introduction

The IPC’s Strategic Plan 2015-2018 defines one if its strategic drivers as ‘Shaping organisational capacity’.  Through this it prioritises creating a positive and effective working environment maximizing the skills of all people who contribute across the Paralympic Movement.  Contributing to this driver is the Agitos Foundation’s Organisational Capacity Programme (OCP), which offers comprehensive learning and training in the areas of governance & planning, marketing & communication and athlete development for National Paralympic Committees.

With resources now available through Toyota, the IPC’s Worldwide Paralympic Partner, the Agitos Foundation is able to offer this educational opportunity from 2017 onwards until 2024 to more NPCs worldwide. This time it has reached your NPC!

The four day long OCP Training Workshop equips participants nominated by their NPCs and approved by the Agitos Foundation with the necessary knowledge and skills  to successfully implement the OCP in collaboration with the entire NPC in their country.

The prospective Programme Leads are requested to register all their details by clicking on the box below, in order to access the OCP online toolbox of resources to thoroughly prepare for the Training Workshop and the national programme implementation.

Fileshare

The fileshare is the Programme Leads’ online tool box of the OCP. Here you find the  OCP learning modules (3 topic areas) in form of Powerpoint Presentations, the OCP Handbook and appendices to answer all your questions and guide you through the OCP implementation within your NPC.

Please use the time prior to the OCP Training Workshop to thoroughly get familiar with the OCP learning modules and procedures and note any question you might have so it can be addressed during the workshop.

Benefits of attending

At the end of this training Programme Leads should be able to:

  • Explain the OCP’s key topics
  • Undertake a needs analysis of their NPC
  • Design ‘needs driven’ sessions
  • Facilitate (non-lecture) sessions
  • Follow-up of participants to achieve the tangible outcomes within the NPC

Programme Leads will be assessed as to their competence and receive a detailed feedback by the OCP Educators during the Training Workshop to determine whether they are competent to implement the OCP independently as Programme Lead. All will receive a certificate of attendance from the Agitos Foundation.

Who should attend?

By recruiting and training talented individuals from within the NPC network to lead these programmes, the aim is to ensure programmes are pitched at the right level and delivered in the most engaging and impactful way.

Programme Leads will use World Academy of Sport techniques, to create an interactive learning environment and to motivate participants completing the course to implement the knowledge they acquire.
